A pizza delivery driver is accused of stabbing a pregnant woman multiple times at a motel in Florida following a disagreement over a tip, as reported by authorities on Wednesday.
Brianna Alvelo, 22, faces charges for the stabbing incident that took place in the victim’s motel room on Sunday in Kissimmee, located just south of Orlando, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The altercation ensued after the victim ordered a pizza from a local establishment earlier that evening. Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls regarding a home invasion and a stabbing at the Riviera Motel.
Upon their arrival, they found the victim suffering from several stab wounds. An investigation revealed that Alvelo attacked the woman shortly after delivering the pizza, reportedly becoming upset over the tip she received.
Alvelo returned to the motel room armed with a knife and was accompanied by an unidentified male suspect who was carrying a firearm. They forcibly entered the room and began assaulting the victim, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds, and some belongings were also taken from the room. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition.
According to reports, the victim was stabbed after providing a $2 tip. She, along with her boyfriend and their 5-year-old daughter, was staying at the motel to celebrate a birthday, as indicated in court documents obtained by local television stations WESH 2 and Fox 35.
The incident occurred late Sunday after they ordered a pizza from a nearby Marco’s Pizza. When Alvelo delivered the pizza, which totaled approximately $33, the victim handed her a $50 bill and requested change.
Alvelo informed the victim that she did not have any change available, prompting the victim to search her wallet and vehicle for smaller denominations.
Ultimately, the victim allegedly provided Alvelo with a $2 tip, which led Alvelo to roll her eyes and leave the scene, according to reports from WESH 2.
