Jana Kramer and her husband, Allan Russell, are sharing the real date they got married!
The 41-year-old actress and singer and the 44-year-old former soccer player had previously said they tied the knot in Scotland in July 2024. But on a recent episode of her Whine Down podcast, they revealed that they actually got married months earlier!
“We got married in January,” Allan shared on the March 11 episode. “And we made it official for everyone else in July.”
Jana then described how their private ceremony happened. A woman at the courthouse mentioned that her son was a notary and could perform a simple wedding at their home.
“It was around 3 PM, right before the kids got home,” Jana explained. “He came over and asked if we wanted to say vows, but we decided to save that for later. We just signed the paper, and Allan put the ring on.”
However, Jana chose not to wear her ring that day. “We saved that too,” she said. “It was something just for us, something special that we didn’t share with everyone.”
Allan added that they were eager to get married after welcoming their son in November 2023.
“A lot of people in my situation—being from the UK—take care of the legal part first so they can focus on planning the wedding,” he said. “But for us, we just couldn’t wait to be married.”
For Jana, keeping it private was important. “I’ve shared so much of my personal life before,” she said. “This time, it felt nice to keep something just for us and let people think whatever they wanted.”
Last year, Jana and Allan also shared a rule about her acting career—there’s one thing she’s not allowed to do because it’s “not good for a marriage.”
